Dresden will put on its most festive and glorious face for the upcoming 'Stadtfest' or City Festival that will take place from the 15th to the 17th August this year. This is the 16th such festival and is dedicated this year to the famous painter Canaletto who lived and painted in Dresden. Over the years the festival has become a much looked forward to event in the region drawing an incredible number of visitors to the city.
There will be artists, musicians and performers along with a variety of food stalls and shopping. What makes it unique and interesting is that this is spread out over the city and not contained in one area.
Visiting Dresden this week? No fear. You can do the normal Dresden Walks tour in spite of the festival. Our tours will take place as usual and will start at the usual meeting place at Schloss Platz. The only difference is that you may need to look a bit harder for our sign in the midst of the crowds. Alternatively you can visit our website and book your tour or let us know you are coming so that we look out for you too.
